19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

As we read in Week 2, Day 1 of our Advent Devotional, disasters that befall us can damage more than our physical surroundings, they can threaten our faith too. When you lose what is precious to you, like a home, a relationship or a job, the emotional toll can be crippling. That is why it is so important to build your life on a foundation that stands. Jesus is the foundation of our life and our faith. Christianity isn’t based on our experiences, it is based on Him and His Word. Take a. moment to thank God that He is your foundation and He will hold you fast against the storms that come.
