11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. – Psalm 139:11-12 NIV

Our Day 1 reading in Darkness Then Light gave us a glimpse of the darkness experienced by a father who lost his son. In conclusion he said that through wounds and tears, darkness and grief, he had learned that “even darkness will not be dark to you, for you are the Light of the World.”  If you have experienced the loss of any kind, especially of a loved one, ask God to help you see how He shined light even in your darkest moments. If you are still tender to that loss, ask God to kindle the light of hope within you as He pushes back the darkness inch by inch in your heart. And thank Him for loving you enough to send His one and only son to die on your behalf so that you could enter His Kingdom of Light.
