Advent Day 13

23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. – Revelation 21:23-25 NIV

We don’t get to control all our circumstances, and at times they may plunge us into darkness. But as we see in the devotional titled “No More Night” we can choose how we respond. We can come honestly to God with our grief over loss while we still hold firmly to our hope in the future. John writes in Revelation 21 that one day there will be no more night. The good news is, that God’s light can break into our lives now. We can trust Jesus with our heartaches as He illuminates our path through the darkest night. Pray that God will open your eyes today to the comfort and hope Jesus brings.
