Advent Day 14

23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” 24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” – Mark 9:23-24 NLT

It is easy to feel we must project an image of unwavering faith in our church culture. But the bible allows space for dealing with our doubts. In “Invitation to Believe” a pastor’s son deals honestly with his doubts as he asks himself, “What do I actually believe?” In the gospels he found the story of a desperate father who told Jesus, “I believe, help my unbelief!” We don’t need to fear facing our doubts, because Jesus assures us “All things are possible for one who believes”, and He will help us, even when we struggle with doubts. Pray that Jesus will help you with any doubts you struggle with as you wait for Him this Advent season.
