Today, your at-home and around the town adventure is to go shopping! This year it is our mission to supply fun lunchboxes as well as healthy lunches for the 1,000 kids in our area who are in transition and don’t always have a stable place to live. We should trust God because He is good.
Talk about what it means to be a good person. What are good people like? What do they do? How do you know they are good?
What do you think it means that God is good?
If you look in the Bible you will find that it tells us several times “The Lord is good.” And after it says that it often tells us one important thing about our good God. It says, “His love endures forever.”
Now think about the people in your life who are going to love you forever. Are those the people you can trust? Then if God’s faithful love endures forever, and we know He is good, why wouldn’t we trust Him?
What are we trusting today?
There are actually a lot of things that we put our trust in without even thinking about it.
- When you flip a light switch you trust that light will turn on the light.
- When the traffic signal says Walk, you trust that the traffic is going to stop for you.
- When you let go of a pencil you trust that it won’t float away because you trust in gravity to make it fall.
What would happen if you couldn’t trust the electricity, or the traffic or gravity to do what you expect them to?
