Community Celebration of Life
Mar 8, 2021 at 6:00 PM

As we rapidly approach the one-year milestone of living in a world marked by COVID, we recognize that it has been a tough year for nearly everyone. One of the hardest aspects of this past year has been not only just losing loved ones, but losing loved ones without being able to provide a proper service and celebration of life. We know these type of services not only honor those we have lost but also provide closure and healing for those who are grieving. At New Life, we want to do whatever we can to come alongside individuals and families who are navigating these uncharted waters of grief and loss. For that reason, we are holding a Community Celebration of Life Service where we can remember those we have lost as well as provide support and celebration for those lives well-lived. If you’ve lost a loved one over this past year (whether from COVID or any other means) we invite you and your family to participate in this community service. This is meant to be a community event. There is no requirement for your family or loved one to attend New Life or even be a person of faith. All are welcome.

Our Community Celebration of Life Service will be:

MONDAY, MARCH 8 • 6PM

MAIN PARKING LOT OF NEW LIFE CHURCH

While we will be honoring many people who have passed, we want to do everything we can to make this experience meaningful and personal, so we would encourage you to pre-register to let us know a bit about your loved one and allow us to provide some personal touches to the service. Registration is not required to attend the service but it does allow us to love your family in unique ways. Registration closed on Friday, May 5th, but we encourage you to bring a photo of your loved one with you to the service so you can participate in some personal aspects of the service. Thank you.

A note about COVID safety: We will be following all COVID safety guidelines set by our local public health officials. Each household will be sitting in their own circle allowing for at least 6ft of space between households. Please wear a mask. Masks are required when moving about the parking lot or interacting with those outside your household. We will be providing chairs; however, if you feel more comfortable, you’re welcome to bring your own. We will have some outdoor heaters, but we also recommend dressing warm since our Central Coast weather can get a bit chilly.

We look forward to honoring all those we have lost this past year together!
