Advent Day 21

The LORD is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid? – Psalm 27:1 NIV

At times we can be our own worst critic. And if we allow those inner voices of self-degradation to grow unchecked, they can spread darkness from the corners of our souls just as we read in “When the Darkness is Inside” in our devotional. Although we may know what scripture says about God’s light and we believe it for everyone else, we can still find it difficult to apply to ourselves. But God, who shone the light of a trillion stars in the universe, won’t let such darkness have the final word in your life. He IS your light and salvation!  Pray that God’s light will penetrate the very crevasses of your soul, pushing back any doubt, fear or lies hiding there. Praise Him who is your stronghold and your salvation.
