Bible Studies by Demand for Women DVDs - Vol 1
Experience Life- learning to follow Jesus in a me-centered world:Leader's kit
Pete Briscoe explores what it means to surrender to Jesus and the dynamic impact following Christ will have on our personal lives, oour relationships, and our service to others.
James Mercy Triumphs
James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple with Beth Moore's study James: Mercy Triumphs. Once you get to know both the man and the Book of James, you'll never be the same again.
Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any New Testament book. James is a book with many topics — social justice, joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer — all of which are covered in this study.

Being God's Man in the Face of Temptation
Stephen Arterburn, Kenny Luck, Todd Wendorff All men are tempted to compromise. But not all men do. Some have learned the secret of being undivided between what they believe and how they actually think and live.

They possess integrity. They’ve gained new perspectives on the trials and temptations they face, new tools to help them survive automatic human responses to challenging situations, and new actions which produce humility and flexibility in God’s strength. You can be a man of integrity too.

Confession breaks the power of temptation in men of integrity; connection with other men sustains the victory. Being God’s Man…in the Face of Temptation will help you–whether in individual or group study–confront this pervasive problem in God’s wisdom and strength. And begin to live the undivided life.
Being God's Man by Standing Firm Under Pressure
Stephen Arterburn, Kenny Luck, Todd Wendorff How to maintain your godly boundaries even under pressure.

When you’re faced with an imminent threat, your body releases adrenaline. Your heart beats faster. Your muscles tense, and all your senses switch to “Go.” But what happens when your spiritual well-being is under attack? Do you stand strong in your desire to do God’s will…or run for the hills?

The path of faith is tough traveling. Fighting to hold on to God’s purposes under adverse conditions is inconvenient, impractical, and thoroughly unpredictable. Standing firm under pressure reveals our true convictions about God, about everything.

In Being God’s Man by Standing Firm Under Pressure you’ll examine one man–named Daniel–and his band of brothers who demonstrated how not to compromise under pressure. They didn’t let misfortune, temptation, manipulation, intimidation, or even death shake their faith into compromise. Instead, they faced each new challenging circumstance with courage and trust. As God’s man, you can, too.

Special Features:
·Practical studies facilitate personal encounters with God and other men
·Questions encourage genuine reflection and help build godly convictions
·“Real Life” case studies show how the truths you discover have worked out in other men’s lives
·“Standing Strong” section gives you the opportunity to form and express your action steps with God and your group
Being God's Man by Understanding a Woman's Heart
Stephen Arterburn, Kenny Luck, Todd Wendorff How to be God’s man in relationship with a woman.

Few men would ever embark on an important project, a significant career change, or a major athletic challenge without gathering all the tactical knowledge possible to insure a good outcome. Yet, when it comes to relationships with women, most men fail to apply the simple principles that make them successful in other areas of life.

It may be easy to get into a relationship with a woman, but it’s not so easy to make the relationship work well. It takes energy. It demands effort. It requires education and understanding.

God is available to help. But there’s a catch: God’s man must connect with God’s purposes before he can truly connect with his wife (or wife-to-be). God uses the marriage relationship to promote growth in men’s lives, because it shows us our character gaps and drives us to Him for solutions.

If you want true intimacy and connection with a woman, you’ll need to grow up and graduate from God’s school of character. This book, Being God’s Man by Understanding a Woman’s Heart, is the perfect start.

Every Man's Challenge: How Far Are You Willing to Go for God?
Stephen Arterburn, Fred Stoeker Are you ready to face life’s tests?

God tests a man. Into the flow of everyday life He sends “pop quizzes”–those unexpected trials that show us what we’re made of; that reveal the true quality of our faith and character; that show our willingness to obey Him.

Every Man’s Challenge, part of the best-selling Every Man series, will prepare you to obey. It does take guts to stand firm in facing what life throws our way. We need courage to acknowledge our own weaknesses and to change. We need understanding in handling moral dilemmas and family crises. Thankfully, God has given us the strength we need. By His power we can “participate in the divine nature” and triumph over our sins and the temptations and corruption of the world.

The forty “exams” in this book, comprised of Scripture, stories, and reflective questions, will give you the necessary tools to draw closer to God and win life’s battles. Used in your devotional times or for personal reflection or group study, you’ll find strength to overcome sexual temptation, learn how to love your wife better, and gain increasing confidence to live as Christ did.

In the defining moments of your life, you can obey God and pass the tests that challenge every man.
Every Man's Battle: Winning the War on Sexual Temptation One Victory at a Time
Stephen Arterburn, Fred Stoeker The challenge every man faces...the fight every man can win!

From movies and television, to print media and the Internet, men are constantly faced with the assault of sensual images. It is impossible to avoid such temptations... but, thankfully, not impossible to confront them and gain victory over them!

Millions have found Every Man’s Battle the single greatest resource for overcoming the struggle and remaining strong in the face of temptation. With extensive updates for a new generation, this phenomenal bestseller shares the stories of dozens who have escaped the trap of sexual immorality and presents a practical, detailed plan for any man who desires sexual integrity.

Includes a comprehensive workbook and a special section for women, designed to help them understand and support the men they love.
Every Man's Marriage: An Every Man's Guide to Winning the Heart of a Woman
Stephen Arterburn, Fred Stoeker, Mike Yorkey What every man wishes he knew about what his wife desires most.

Authors Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker (with Mike Yorkey) believe that every man can meet the secret desires of his wife. The problem is, most of us aren't exactly sure what that desire is and how we can go about fulfilling it faithfully.

In Every Man's Marriage, you can discover the common misconceptions about what it means to exercise biblical authority, and understand the role of submission in the marriage relationship. This groundbreaking book can help men grasp and apply essential but often overlooked principles for marital leadership.

Through candid reflections on their own struggles to achieve biblical unity in their own marriages, along with many years of combined experience in marital counseling, Arterburn and Stoeker apply solid, time-tested biblical wisdom to the everyday potential distortions that can lead to strife in a marriage.

The second book in the Every Man series, this is the perfect follow-up to the best-selling Every Man's Battle. Every Man's Marriage is a terrific resource for establishing mutual respect and sacrifice in your marriage based on Christ's example of loving His bride, the church.

The women of the Bible play an integral, essential, and crucial role in the eternal plan of God. You will learn from their mistakes and discover that the blessings of God are heaped upon the woman who faithfully trusts the Lord in all situations.

* Do you take the path of bitterness or the path of brokenness when faced with distress and difficulties?

* Have you learned that you cannot alter the past, but you can put your past on the altar?

* Are you wrapped up things eternally insignificant? or are you focusing on things eternally significant?

* Does you heart belong completely to the Lord or is there a mixed allegiance?

* Has God used the crucible of adversity to shape your character so it shines  like pure gold?
Life Principles from the Women of the Bible Book 2
Wayne Barber, Eddie Rasnake, Richard Shepherd God's Woman of Yesterday Speak Boldly to God's Women of Today.

The women of the Bible play an integral, essential, and crucial role in the eternal plan of God. From heaven's point of view, women are always unique, matchless, and irreplaceable-they are never to be found in a subservient ranking within the kingdom of God. The woman characters featured in Woman of the Bible (Book Two) demonstrates to us the struggles we all have in being faithful and submissive to God's design. Examples are given of those who received blessing from a surrendered walk with God as well as those who did not follow His directions. Other examples are given of those who learned the ideals of inner beauty, surrender, and servanthood over time.

Through a detailed study of each of these noteworthy women of the Bible, you will learn that God has called today's woman to play a significant role in society, in the home, and in the church. You will learn from their mistakes and discover that the blessings of God are heaped upon the woman who faithfully trusts the Lord in all situations.

In the pages of this books you will come face to face with such questions as:

* Do you take comfort in knowing that God sees everything, including the wrongs that others have done to you?

* What does God say through His Word about showing partiality to others?

* Do you realize that God loves you in spite of the fact that others don't seem to?

* Can it be said of you that you are a beautiful person on the inside?

* What do you need to do to make it more difficult for you to give into fleshly desires?

* Do you possess a submissive spirit as evidence of God working in your life?

You’ll explore the dynamics of being filled with the Spirit through intimate relationship with Him, committed obedience, and radical departure from sin.

Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit
Francis Chan A follow up to the profound message of Crazy Love, Pastor Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and … the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit—the Helper—so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Unfortunately, today’s church has admired the gift but neglected to open it.

Breakthrough author Francis Chan rips away paper and bows to get at the true source of the church’s power—the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we’ve ignored the Spirit for far too long, and we are reaping the disastrous results. Thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan’s invitation to stop and remember the One we’ve forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.

Remembering the Forgotten God: An Interactive Workbook for Individual and Small Group Study
Francis Chan, Mark Beuving In this workbook companion to Forgotten God, author Francis Chan reminds us of the true source of the church’s power—the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we’ve ignored the Spirit for far too long, and that without Him, we operate in our own strength, only accomplishing human-sized results. Offering a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives the workbook is designed to initiate and facilitate both individual study, and small group discussion, interaction and practical application of the message of Forgotten God.   The workbook will stand alone, or can be used alongside the Forgotten God DVD Study Resource. Francis’ thought-provoking teaching makes this a valuable workbook resource for individual study, a seven-week small group study, churches, youth groups, and college campus ministries—and perfect for retreat weekends.
Erasing Hell: What God said about eternity, and the things we made up
Francis Chan, Preston Sprinkle How could a loving God send people to hell? Will people have a chance after they die to believe in Jesus and go to heaven?

With a humble respect for God's Word, Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle address the deepest questions you have about eternal destiny. They've asked the same questions. Like you, sometimes they just don't want to believe in hell. But as they write, "We cannot afford to be wrong on this issue." This is not a book about who is saying what. It's a book about what God says. It's not a book about impersonal theological issues. It's a book about people who God loves. It's not a book about arguments, doctrine, or being right. It's a book about the character of God.

Erasing Hell will immerse you in the truth of Scripture as, together with the authors, you find not only the truth but the courage to live it out.

Be TRANSFORMED
Sharon Dutra Have you ever wondered if there is 'more to your life'? As human beings, we go through life experiencing hope, dreams, thoughts, failures, sorrow, regrets, expectations, disappointment, and a host of other thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, we look at our lives and wish that we could have done more. Or, we may wish that we would have stayed still longer. And others of us have lived through so much suffering, we believe it's all we can do to survive from one minute to the next. This book is one of HOPE. It's a collection of topics that relate to the practical issues we face every day. Subjects like Anxiety, Disciplining our Children, Forgiveness, and Guilt are among the chapters. The Star of the book is Jesus Christ. But before you turn your interest away, you might want to open the pages and take a look. Even if you aren't a Christian, there is a wellspring of information and wisdom for your life's problems. I have witnessed hundreds of people that say they have tried self-help books and support groups. They have refrained from their addictions, and have gone to great lengths to try to change their thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors. But most often, they go right back their old thoughts, habits, and ways of life. Others have tried money, looks, material gain, power, education, sex, and relationships to make themselves 'happy'. But I find that a great majority of them are dissatisfied and disillusioned. While it may sound too good to be true, I am here to tell you from my own experience that you really can have true and lasting peace, joy, love, hope, and stability in life. Pick up your copy today. You might just be surprised! 

Beginning in Christ Together
Brett Eastman, Dee Eastman, Todd Wendorff, Denise Wendorff, Karen Lee-Thorp The heart of Christianity is not a ritual or a structure, but a Person—-Jesus Christ. But even as his followers, our vision of Jesus can get muddied by man-made theories of who he was. Whether you're a seasoned believer or a brand new Christian, come walk in the footsteps of his first disciples to see him afresh: as Teacher, Healer, Shepherd, Servant, Savior, and Risen Lord. These six sessions lay the foundation for radical discipleship as our hearts are once again captured by who he is. Experiencing Christ Together helps your group explore the five biblical purposes that make up a high-impact Christian life —-fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism, and worship. Jesus perfectly lived out God's purposes for his life, and he taught his followers how to do the same. As you walk in the footsteps of those first disciples by listening to and watching Jesus through these studies, you and your group will be transformed. One small group leader put it this way: 'The Experiencing Christ Together series has motivated me more than any other Bible study that I have ever been to. This Bible study gets to the heart of the matter—-my character in Christ—-and that has created action on my part.'

Just Walk Across the Room Participant's Guide: Four Sessions on Simple Steps Pointing People to Faith
Bill Hybels Building on the solid foundation laid in Becoming a Contagious Christian, Just Walk Across the Room signals the next era in personal evangelism. Pastor Bill Hybels's firm conviction is that the highest value in personal evangelism is being attuned to and cooperative with the promptings of the Holy Spirit. This means playing only the role you are intended to play—-walking when the Spirit says to walk, talking when the Spirit says to talk, and falling silent when the Spirit suggests that you've already said enough. More than two thousand years ago, Jesus himself introduced the perfect model for evangelism. He left the marvelous adoration of the angels and the perfection of heaven, and he chose to 'walk' clear across the cosmos. He had no memorized script, no forced formulas. Instead, he was armed only with an offer of redemption to people just like you and me, many of whom were neck-deep in pain of their own making. Today, the goal for every Christian is to reflect Christ's love and follow his example by taking simple walks across rooms—-leaving our circles of comfort and extending hands of care, compassion, and inclusiveness to people living far from God. Hybels encourages Christ-followers to 'live in 3-D'—-developing friendships, discovering stories, and discerning appropriate next steps—-as a means of learning to understand the Spirit's promptings. With fresh perspectives from his own reflections and experiences collected during his most recent decade of ministry. Hybels shows with undeniable clarity the power of this approach to evangelism. The stakes are high. The implications are eternal. And you may be only a conversation away from having unparalleled impact on someone's life—-if you will just walk across the room.

Building on the solid foundation laid in Becoming a Contagious Christian, Bill Hybels shows how you can participate in the model first set by Jesus, who stepped down from heaven 2,000 years ago to bring hope and redemption to broken people living in a fallen world. Now it's your turn. Your journey may not be as dramatic, but it can have a life-changing impact for someone standing a few steps away from you—-and for you as well, as you learn the power of extending care, compassion, and inclusiveness under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The highest value in personal evangelism is cooperating with the Spirit, says Hybels. This means playing only the role you're meant to play—-walking when the Spirit says to walk, talking when he says to talk, and falling silent when he suggests that you've said enough. Hybels encourages you to 'live in 3D' ... Developing friendships Discovering stories Discerning appropriate next steps ... as a means of learning to understand the Holy Spirit's promptings. With fresh perspectives from his own reflections and experiences collected during his most recent decade of ministry, Bill Hybels shows with convincing and inspiring clarity the power of this personal, richly relational approach to evangelism. The stakes are high. The implications are eternal. And you may be only a conversation away from having an eternal impact on someone's life—-if you will just walk across the room.
Just Walk Across the Room: Simple Steps Pointing People to Faith
Bill Hybels What if you knew that by simply crossing the room and saying hello to someone, you could change that person's forever? Just a few steps to make an eternal difference. It has nothing to do with methods and everything to do with taking a genuine interest in another human being. All you need is a heart that's in tune with the Holy Spirit and a willingness to venture out of your 'Circle of Comfort' and into another person's life. Just Walk Across the Room brings personal evangelism into the twenty-first century. Building on the solid foundation laid in Becoming a Contagious Christian, Bill Hybels shows how you can participate in the model first set by Jesus, who stepped down from heaven 2,000 years ago to bring hope and redemption to broken people living in a fallen world. Romans 8: Inseparable
Bill Hybels FEEL THE SECURE EMBRACE OF GOD Where do you find hope, strength, and comfort in a world where brokenness, separation, and betrayal are spreading like an epidemic? The world may tell you to look inward, but God says to look upward. Through faith in Jesus, you can be connected to the heart of the Father with inseparable love. In Christ you are safe and secure. Romans chapter eight contains a message of hope-filled optimism. No matter what you have suffered, there is good news. Through the lens of this powerful chapter of Scripture, life begins to make sense again, hope rises like the sun after a dark night, and you can feel the strong arms of the heavenly Father wrap around you. You are a child of God, and the Father will never let go. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. And, thankfully, there's nothing you can do to change that.

We make five decisions. And we take a swing.

John Ortberg DVD-If You Want To Walk On Water (6 Session) by Ortberg John
God Is Closer Than You Think
John Ortberg
When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box
John Ortberg Today is the day you choose . . . . . . which game you want to win. . . . which prize you want to collect. . . . which priorities you want to set. It's a thrill to win at checkers or Clue or Trivial Pursuit. You sweep aside the other players and you 'own' the board. It's also a thrill to win a promotion at work ... the new house you wanted ... that sports car you've always eyed. But just like the game cards, the tokens, and the timer, those prizes are temporary. When the game is over, they all go back in the box. Games can cast a powerful spell, says bestselling author John Ortberg. But the wisest player remembers that the game is always going to end. So what can we take with us to the kingdom of God? Only the love we have for Christ, the love we have for each other, and our own souls. While it's not bad to be good at chess or Risk—-or the game of life on earth—-we can't allow it to get in the way of what really matters. Using his humor and his genius for storytelling, Ortberg helps you focus on the real rules of the game and how to set your priorities. When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box DVD and participant's guide help explain how, left to our own devices, we tend to seek out worldly things, mistakenly thinking they will bring us fulfillment. But everything on Earth belongs to God. Everything we 'own' is just on loan. And what pleases God is often 180 degrees from what we may think is important. In the six sessions you will learn how to: * Live passionately and boldly * Learn how to be active players in the game that pleases God * Find your true mission and offer your best * Fill each square on the board with what matters most * Seek the richness of being instead of the richness of having You can't beat the house, notes Ortberg. We're playing our game of life on a giant board called a calendar. Time will always run out, so it's a good thing to live a life that delights your Creator. When everything goes back in the box, you'll have made what is temporary a servant to what is eternal, and you'll leave this life knowing you've achieved the only victory that matters. This DVD includes a 32-page leader's guide and is designed to be used with the When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box participant's guide, which is available separately.

Perplexing Proverbs: A Bible Study for Women
Susanne Sheppmann In PERPLEXING PROVERBS FOR WOMEN, author Susanne Scheppmann  applies the wisdom of the Book of Proverbs to the primary concerns women face and direct them to God's answers for daily decisions.

Today's women struggle with life-altering decisions.

Many women feel lost in the craziness  of this world and search for direction. Thorny issues include managing finances, cultivating friendships, finding contentment, being a good mother, controlling emotions, and maintaining sex appeal. Sadly, many woman fail to consult the resource of true wisdom sitting on their own book-shelves or nightstands.

The Bible, specifically the Book of Proverbs, holds the answers to the questions of life. Women need to recognize this resource and learn how to apply the lessons it teaches.

Perplexing Proverbs for Women is a ten-week study that applies the wisdom of the Proverbs to ten primary concerns (hearts-prints) in a woman's life. Ideal for small-group or individual study, it uses both Old and New testament passages to cement the concepts of the Proverbs and to help women gain wisdom in day-to-day living.

Lee Strobel, Garry Poole Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines several experts with doctorates from schools like Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis who are recognized authorities in their own fields. Strobel challenges them with questions like: How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event? Strobel's tough, point-blank questions make this six-session video study a captivating, fast-paced experience. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. The six sessions include: 1 The Investigation of a Lifetime 2 Eyewitness Evidence 3 Evidence Outside the Bible 4 Analyzing Jesus 5 Evidence for the Resurrection 6 Reaching the Verdict 6 sessions; 1 DVD with leader's guide, 80 minutes (approximate). Listening for God through James
Various Lectio Divina, Latin for divine reading, is a series of Bible studies that calls Christians to slow down, read Scripture, meditate on it, and prayerfully respond as they ""listen to God"" through His Word.

During Jesus' public ministry, younger brother James seems to have been a doubter (John 7:5). Yet the resurrected Christ appeared especially to this brother, and James was among the believers as they gather in the upper room in Acts 2. So, at some point, James became a true spiritual brother of his earthly brother.

The content in the book of James is focused on the practical, day-to-day living out of the example of Jesus, in word and in deed. One key theme is that the little sins we consider more acceptable (like gossip, jealousy, favoritism, and hoarding wealth) are as ugly in God's eyes as the biggies.

Its instructions have everything to do with how true believers - then and now - live as Christ-followers in the real world.

The Purpose Driven Life
Rick Warren Another Landmark Book by Rick Warren. You are not an accident. Even before the universe was created, God had you in mind, and he planned you for his purposes. These purposes will extend far beyond the few years you will spend on earth. You were made to last forever! Self-help books often suggest that you try to discover the meaning and purpose of your life by looking within yourself, but Rick Warren says that is the wrong place to start. You must begin with God, your Creator, and his reasons for creating you. You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. This book will help you understand why you are alive and God's amazing plan for you—-both here and now, and for eternity. Rick Warren will guide you through a personal 40-day spiritual journey that will transform your answer to life's most important question: What on earth am I here for? Knowing God's purpose for creating you will reduce your stress, focus your energy, simplify your decisions, give meaning to your life, and, most importantly, prepare you for eternity. The Purpose Driven Life is a blueprint for Christian living in the 21st century—-a lifestyle based on God's eternal purposes, not cultural values. Using over 1,200 scriptural quotes and references, it challenges the conventional definitions of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism. In the tradition of Oswald Chambers, Rick Warren offers distilled wisdom on the essence of what life is all about. This is a book of hope and challenge that you will read and re-read, and it will be a classic treasured by generations to come.

He foreshadowed the fact that he was going to be 'broken' and 'poured out'—-he was going to take humanity's punishment for sin on himself. While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.' Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.' Jesus warned his disciples that he would be with them only a little while longer. He went on to comfort his confused followers. 'Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.' Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?' Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.'
